Artifacts

Multigenre persuasive campaign: Poster

For my first artifact, I chose a genre that would appropriately appeal to the younger of my two audiences (Generation Z), given its “short and sweet” style of communication. The colors, pictures, and background images are meant to be engaging as well as create a positive tone given the typically negative subject. The goal of the poster was to inform the audience of the seriousness of the subject, while also providing hope and realistic actions individuals could take to make a positive impact on the issue.

Multigenre persuasive campaign: Weekly newsletter (via email)

For my second artifact, I chose a weekly newsletter/journal communicated to the audience via email. This artifact was meant to target a range of age groups, via email, given how widely and frequently it is used to communicate amongst both adolescents and adults. The Newsletter is a more direct artifact in terms of offering solutions to climate change, while also providing more specific details and information on the current status of climate. Given that the journal would be on a weekly basis, audiences would be more engaged with the authors purpose, stay informed on the issue, and be consistently provided with ways to make an impact.
